HHS is working closely with national and local governments, and many HHS-funded services are provided locally by state agencies or county, or by the private sector beneficiaries.
The department includes more than 300 programs, covering a wide range of activities, including address many HIV / AIDS prevention, care and treatment and research. In addition to the services they offer, the HHS programs provide for equitable treatment of beneficiaries nationwide, and allow the collection of national health and other data.
